Fringe Benefit Tax
Most employers have to deal with Fringe Benefits Tax and ATO scrutiny of compliance will only intensify as the concept of income broadens to include Reportable Benefits provided to employees. Fringe benefits can still be used effectively to structure a tax effective remuneration package but employers must be careful in ensuring they comply with the calculations of benefits as well as the reporting obligations.
